Members of the medical profession were actively involved in euthanasia murders. Social workers (“welfare” in National Socialism) participated in the stigmatization of people as so-called “anti-social elements.” Profession-specific seminars address these aspects and inquire about the causes, forms and consequences of caregivers and social workers participating in Nazi euthanasia.
Physicians also played a part in Nazi policies of exclusion and murder. These seminars, which are oriented towards professionals and university students, address the subject of the participation of physicians in medical crimes under the Nazis.
All of the seminars discuss the scope of action for people involved in these crimes, as well as the possible societal, political and ethical repercussions of this phase of the profession’s history on the contemporary profession.
